Recently (ok, about 6 months ago), LemonEye, Inc. sent a letter to Ferrero, maker of Tic Tacs, regarding the myriad dangers presented by the 30% increase in the size of each mint. Well, even more recently (4 months ago), Ferrero was kind enough to respond to the unassailable arguments presented in my scathing critique:

"Ferrero has built Tic Tac to its current position as one of the world's leading fine breath mints by the strictest dedication to quality ingredients and production. Because we value the good name and reputation of Tic Tac, we sincerely appreciate your effort in advising us of your dissatisfaction with our product.

"We were sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with our new 30% larger Tic Tacs, with More Enjoyable Freshness. We will certainly inform our Marketing Department of your comments.

"Enclosed are complimentary coupons for other products as a token of our appreciation of your patronage. We hope that you will enjoy them."

Cheap web site content and a free meal? Sign me up. Also, make sure to watch for the Tic Tacs Public Service Announcement in which they sincerely apologize for the damage they've done and discontinue the More Enjoyable Freshness. I can't believe they put that in the letter.
